PRECISEU launches Open Call to support interregional innovation in personalised medicine

The PRECISEU project is pleased to announce the launch of its Open Call for Joint Interregional Projects (JIPs), opened on 13 April 2026. This call aims to support collaborative projects that accelerate the development and adoption of innovative solutions in personalised medicine, fostering cooperation between key stakeholders across European regions. Through this Open Call, PRECISEU will fund projects that bring together partners from different territories to address shared challenges in healthcare, strengthen innovation ecosystems, and contribute to more sustainable and effective health systems.
Supporting interregional collaboration
The Open Call focuses on enabling interregional consortia composed of actors such as SMEs, healthcare providers, research organisations, and other relevant stakeholders. Selected projects will work on advancing innovative healthcare approaches with strong potential for implementation and impact.
Projects are expected to contribute to:
- the uptake of personalised medicine solutions
- cross-regional knowledge transfer and collaboration
- strengthening regional innovation capacities
- generating tangible outcomes with real-world application
Information webinar
To support applicants, PRECISEU hosted an information webinar on 14 April 2026, where participants received detailed guidance on the call, including:
- objectives and scope of the Open Call
- eligibility criteria and consortium requirements
- application and evaluation process
- practical recommendations for applicants
Application process and timeline
The call is open from 13 April 2026 until 14 June 2026 and follows a single-stage submission process. Applicants are required to submit a complete proposal in English, including:
- administrative information (Part A)
- project description (Part B)
- budget template (Part C)
- declaration of honour
Proposals will undergo an admissibility and eligibility check, followed by evaluation by external experts. Projects will be assessed according to three main criteria: relevance, quality and impact. Successful applicants are expected to prepare grant agreements over the summer, with selected projects planned to start from 1 October 2026.
Funding model and regional specificities
The funding model reflects the complexity of combining European and regional resources. PRECISEU’s financial support to third parties is based on a cascade funding mechanism, with regional funding agencies playing a key role in the allocation of funding to project partners.
Regional conditions may vary, including: available funding levels, pre-financing models, state aid rules, reporting and administrative requirements. For this reason, applicants were strongly encouraged to consult the regional annexes carefully and contact their regional representatives to clarify specific conditions applicable in their territory.
A webinar specific for the Emilia-Romagna partners will be organised by Regione Emilia-Romagna, where the rules specific to the regional application process will be clarified.
