Clust-ER Health: the 2024 annual report tells a year of growth and innovation

Clust-ER Health presents its 2024 Annual Report, a comprehensive overview of the progress, initiatives and projects that have marked a year of growth for the regional ecosystem of health and wellbeing. From international collaboration to technological innovation, the report speaks of a constant commitment to promote projects development, exploration of new markets and collaboration, with an attention to people, both as a driving force and as recipients of the fruits of this innovation.

Innovative projects for health and sustainability

2024 saw Clust-ER Health participate in several strategic projects at European and regional level, with a focus on:

  • Personalised medicine and telemedicine, to improve access to care and promote technological innovation.
  • Sustainability and the circular economy, with initiatives to reduce waste and encourage efficient use of resources.
  • Support for SMEs, to strengthen their ability to compete in international contexts and access European funds such as Horizon Europe and I3.

Communication and networking: strengthening connections

In 2024, Clust-ER Health participated in more than 90 events, including fairs, workshops and institutional missions, strengthening the network between its 118 members and international stakeholders. All thanks to:

  • New communication strategies such as podcasts, live streaming and interactive video games have made research projects and innovative solutions more accessible.
  • Networking activities, creating synergies between the public and private sectors, contributing to the development of new cross-sectoral collaborations.
  • The first Rresearch Retreat: an event for over 300 participants with 10 thematic sessions to create new connections and projects.

Training: investing in human capital

Clust-ER Health has devoted particular attention to training to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing industry. The main initiatives supported include:

  • University Masters in advanced materials, artificial intelligence and telemedicine.
  • Schools of advanced training, in collaboration with the main regional universities, to address topics such as medical robotics, big data and certifications for personalised medicine.
  • ITS (higher technological institutes) and IFTS (higher technical education and training) courses, to train specialised technicians with an increasingly international approach.

Internazionalisation: expanding horizons

2024 was a crucial year for the international expansion of Clust-ER Health. Key moments include:

  • Participation in global fairs such as BIO Europe and Arab Health, which have strengthened links with international players in the biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Institutional missions to South Korea, the US and Canada, where opportunities for collaboration in research and innovation have been explored.

Looking to the future

The 2024 Annual Report tells of a moving ecosystem, where every activity and project contributes to a common vision: creating innovative solutions for people’s health and sustainable development.

The President, Paolo Bonaretti, sums it up as follows: The path is not without obstacles, but every challenge represents an opportunity for us to grow. We look to the future with the ambition of building a more resilient, innovative and inclusive ecosystem, able to respond effectively to citizens’ needs and to value the talent and skills present in our territory“.
