Catalysing the regional innovation capacity of the MEDIC NEST Digital Precision Medicine ecosystem and beyond

The InnoMedCatalyst project aims to enhance the regional innovation capacity of precision and personalised medicine ecosystems across Europe, where startups, spin-offs, scaleups, innovators and healthcare providers will increase their capabilities to develop, test and refine digital health solutions as business cases, while simultaneously preparing a set of inter-regional investment projects ready for further investment and exploitation by 2026.

The overall objective will be achieved through a set of guiding pillars, such as the analysis of the regional value chain in digital precision medicine in the context of the 5P medicine concept, the creation of roadmaps towards regional innovation ecosystems in 5P digital precision medicine, the development of a peer learning programme, a twinning programme, a 5P precision medicine acceleration programme, an innovation network platform (Life Sciences Open Space) and a portfolio of European inter-regional investment projects.

The InnoMedCatalyst consortium is designed to strengthen the collaboration of regions with different stages of development.

The consortium is made up of 13 partners:

  • AGENTIA PENTRU DEZVOLTARE REGIONALANORD-EST, Romania
  • North-East Regional Innovative Cluster for Structural and Molecular Imaging, Romania
  • Klaster LifeScience Krakow, Poland
  • MEDVIA, Belgium
  • Hellenic BioCluster, Greece
  • Cluster Soluciones Innovadoras para la Vida Independiente SIVI, Spain
  • Clust-ER Industrie della Salute e del Benessere, Italy
  • Health and Life Sciences Cluster, Bulgaria
  • Health Cluster, Portugal
  • European Regional and Local Health Authorities, Belgium
  • BIOCAT, Spain
  • STARTUP MADEIRA, Portugal
  • InPulse, come centro di trasferimento tecnologico.

Clust-ER Health will play a leading role in the project. It will be the task leader of WP4, an acceleration program to increase the capacity of innovation actors. WP4 will last 24 months and will aim to design and implement a digital precision medicine acceleration program for MedTech companies to strengthen the capacity of digital innovators to develop business ideas.

This program can act as a catalyst for collaboration and market growth, ultimately contributing to the advancement of healthcare solutions with a focus on precision and personalization. The final goal will be to create a sustainable entrepreneurial empowerment program aimed at offering mentorship to advance the most promising digital technologies identified in partner countries (MedTech companies that have TRL 4-6 solutions where prototypes are developed and initial tests are conducted).
