Description

The University Hospital of Parma is a highly specialized multi-specialist hospital that offers citizens a complete picture of diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation services: it has 1,044 beds, 4,205 employees and 150 university students under agreement. The Company, organized as a hub & spoke, is characterized by the concentration of highly complex assistance in centers of excellence (“hub” centers) supported by a network of services (“spoke” centers) which are responsible for selecting patients and their sending to centers of reference when a given threshold of clinical-assistance severity is exceeded.

The Parma Hospital has numerous hub functions and excellences at national level. It carries out basic, translational, clinical and epidemiological research in all disciplines, also thanks to the close collaboration with the University of Parma. More than 400 articles are published by scientific journals every year. The governance of research valorisation is entrusted to the Management of the Grant Office and Valorisation of Research Products which provides technical and administrative support to hospital and university staff integrated in the development of research projects.

The Direction is entrusted with the management of the CoreLAB, an area dedicated to research consisting of 7 hospital and university laboratories for the identification of new treatment strategies.
